The story of Turtle Nest Guest House began in 1990 along a sandy stretch of shoreline adjacent to the property of the late Jose Lagunay, where turtles were once frequently seen nesting. One day, the late Dorico Lagunay, son of the late Jose Lagunay, was carrying out his daily routine of harvesting palm wine, locally known as tuba, when he came across several turtles nesting along the shore. Rather than disturb them, he left them in peace as they laid their eggs. This memorable encounter inspired the name “Turtle Nest.” With financial support from his two foreign friends, Eric and Thomas, Dorico began building two single-storey and two duplex-style amakan cottages, along with a restaurant. From then on, Dorico and his family managed and operated the beach cottages, welcoming guests to enjoy the natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere of the coast. After years of operation, Turtle Nest Beach Resort eventually closed for a time. During those years, turtles became a rare sight along the shoreline, making the memory of its beginnings even more meaningful. In 2024, the property reopened under a new name: Turtle Nest Guest House. Today, it is an established boutique accommodation owned and operated by Christian & Lagunay Property Management OPC. Honoring its humble beginnings while embracing a renewed vision, Turtle Nest Guest House offers a tranquil beachfront home away from home—a place where guests can enjoy privacy, comfort, and the soothing beauty of the sea while staying close to Camiguin’s central attractions. More than just a place to stay, Turtle Nest Guest House carries a story rooted in family, friendship, nature, and the timeless charm of island living.
